Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has responded to growing speculation about Thomas Partey’s future at the club, shedding light on the Ghanaian midfielder's contract situation and reaffirming his importance to the team.
Partey, who signed for Arsenal in a high-profile move from Atlético Madrid, remains contracted with the Gunners until June 2025. Despite this, rumors have circulated suggesting a potential departure in the upcoming January transfer window.
Speaking during a press conference, Arteta downplayed the speculation, stating that discussions about Partey’s future will take place at the right time.
“We will have the right time to discuss about the situation,” Arteta said. “He is showing consistency at the highest level, again because his availability and the way that he feels physically is allowing him to do that, and I am very pleased with that.”
Partey has been pivotal for Arsenal this season, showcasing his versatility with impressive performances across multiple roles. In the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, the Black Stars midfielder has featured in 12 matches, scoring two goals and helping Arsenal maintain their push for the title.
With Arsenal set to face West Ham United on Saturday, Partey is expected to be a key figure in Arteta’s plans as the Gunners aim to continue their strong start to the season.
