West Bromwich Albion are reportedly signing Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp this week around £12 million.
The 23-year-old wasn’t named in the Foxes squad for Saturday’s defeat at Hull City, and the Baggies are now hoping to complete his signing this week.
The Ghana international will plug a big gap on the left flank, although it’s yet to be seen whether head coach Tony Pulis plans to use him primarily as a left-back or a left-winger.
Albion had an opening bid of £9m rejected earlier this summer, but have now returned with an offer that is nearer to Leicester’s valuation.
It's been claimed Leicester are planning to offer him a new contract, but the Baggies are confident of completing the signing.
"I can only choose the first 11," Ranieri told the Leicester Mercury
"He of course wants to play and I can't say yes, you can play every match. Then we see what happens.
"Of course he wants to improve his career and now we see will what will happen and we will choose the best solution for the club and for him."
