West Brom are hopeful of completing the £12m signing of JeffJeffrey Schlupp as they wait on talks between the Leicester City winger and Claudio Ranieri.

City boss Ranieri is set to hold talks with Schlupp about his future, who has grown frustrated with his lack of game-time and has told the club he wants to leave if he cannot assured of more playing time.

The former Chelsea manager is keen to hold on to the Ghana international with the club believed to be set to offer him a new contract but has admitted he may not be able to offer Schlupp regular pitch-time.

The 23-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at both left wing and left-back and made only 14 starts last season, compared to 30 under Nigel Pearson during the survival season.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis is determined to sign the Ghana international with the Baggies having made multiple bids for Schlupp, the latest of which is understood to be around £12m.

Any potential deal is understood not to be as advanced as some of the national reports over the weekend, but West Brom remain hopeful as they wait and see what comes of the talks between Schlupp and Ranieri.
