West Ham United captain, James Ward-Prowse have lauded the quality behind Mohammed Kudus' second Premier League goal for the club against Brentford FC on Saturday.

Kudus netted his second goal in the English Premier League for the Hammers in their 3-2 away loss to Brentford FC, cancelling an early strike from Neal Maupay.

The Black Stars jewel had the chance to score a second goal but his goal attempt struck the post but fell kindly to teammate Jarrod Bowen who swept the ball into the net to put West Ham up 2-1 at half time.

Brentford scored twice in the second half to get the win and Ward-Prowse expressed his disappointment with the loss but took time to talk about Kudus’ quality strike.

“At 2-1 up, it was a pivotal moment for us, and we should have seen the game out. Mo (Mohammed Kudus) and Jarrod (Bowen) are both showing their qualities. They scored two really-well taken goals, especially Mo’s, and they’ve got fantastic quality.”

“I’m pleased for them but I know I speak for them when I say they’d rather the three points. It’s something for us to work on and improve on.”

Kudus has now scored five goals across all competitions for West Ham United in his debut season.
