Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Roberto De Zerbi has taken a huge swipe against Black Stars head coach for including injured Tariq Lamptey in his squad.
The English gaffer last Wednesday announced his provisional 55-man list for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which comes up early next year in Cote D'Ivoire.
Tariq Lamptey, who has been facing series of injuries since the start of the season has been added and is currently still on sidelines due to a muscle injury.
After being away since October, the enterprising lateral returned and made the starting line up against Nottingham Forest almost a month ago but unfortunately he lasted only 35 minutes before making way for Jack Hinshelwood due to another injury.
Speaking in a pre-match presser ahead of Crystal Palace clash tomorrow, the Italian tactician Roberto De Zerbi still can't fathom why Lamptey who is still injured, was included in the Ghana squad and has questioned Chris Hughton whether he's been following the Premier League before making that decision.
“It seems you don't watch the English Premier League."
“He (Tariq Lamptey) is not available to play withs us, so how will he play with the Ghana national team?" De Zerbi told the media on Wednesday's Pre-match press conference for Crystal Palace game.
"It seems that the Ghana national team coach does not follow the Premier League," he added
Ghana are in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique. The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will commence on January 13, 2024.
