The stakes are always high when is that time of the year like this, where eight teams from seven different zones test the might of each other in what has always been a fierce competition and a tedious task to determine who advance into first division football next season from the Ashanti Region. 

 

It's the 2022/23 edition of the Ashanti Regional Division Two Promotional tournament and is set to kickstart on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the usual Baba Yara Stadium.

Winners of zone one last year, Asekem FC emerged victors in the last edition with a 5-4 win via penalty shootouts over Pro Players Academy and are currently in zone two of the country's second-tier playing so well so far.
 
The format has always been the same, as winners of the seven zones all get automatic spots to the Middle League, before the best second-placed team joins to add up to eight and make the competition set. 
 
Last year runner's up, Pro Players Academy have booked a ticket once again this year after conquering zone three and this is their third continuous appearance. The 'Goals Nkoaa' outfit amassed 33 points after 16 matches, with ten wins, three draws and defeats.
 
Also, Benab FC for the third straight year have advanced into the main event after winning zone five with massive 44 points and a stunning unbeaten fashion. 
 
The 'Everything by God' lads won 14, and drew 2 with no defeat and incredibly recorded an unprecedented run of 13-game winning streak. 
 
First Klass FC and Jachie United all gets in for the second consecutive time after bossing zone two and seven respectively.
 
The new entrants comprises of zone one winners Royal Kumapem, Kumasi Academicals in zone six and high-flying PAC Academy from zone four and will be coming alongside their runners up Mahala Academy as the best second-placed team.  
 
The first three matches in the group phase are expected to be honoured on Saturday, April 29, Monday, May 1 and Wednesday, May 3, with the final scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023.
