The first phase of the 2022 Ashanti Regional Division Two Promotional tournament was wrapped up on Monday, June 23, 2022 with some scintillating and exciting performance witnessed at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Beposo-based Asekem FC have cruised to the final for the second consecutive year and will square off with high-flying Pro Players Academy who still have their hundred percent record in the competition intact, having won all their three games in the group phase
Jachie United FC despite having nothing to show, proved their worth after annihilating Natcosta FC by 5-1 to end their campaign on a higher note in the opening fixture of the day.
The Group B decider followed up afterwards and it was Pro Players Academy who carried the day with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Kumawuman United FC to extend their points build up to nine.
It was really a cagey tie but a second half penalty converted by skipper Albert Mensah cruised the 'Goals Nkoaa' outfit to the grand finally.
The dynamics in Group A was really complicated having led to the third round of matches starting simultaneously.
Asekem FC cruised to the final in the end after recording a vital and precious 2-1 win over Benab FC thanks to substitute Martin Karikari's 88th minute winner.
Elsewhere at Atonsu, Ebony FC who also had a chance to qualify humbled First Klass FC by 2-1, but wasn't enough to send them through due to the outcome of the other game.
All is set for the grand finally between Group A winners, Asekem FC and Group B conquerors, Pro Players Academy on Thursday, June 24, 2022.
