Newbies Mid City FC have made a strong case for themselves in their first ever Middle League appearance having beaten Jachie United to set up an epic final against Galaxy United.
Both Mid City FC and Jachie United had a tie in points after three matches in Group B with seven points each, and had to engage in a playoff to determine the winner.
The one-off game was honoured last Monday at the usual Baba Yara Stadium where it finished goalless after full time but zone five winners Mid City FC won 4-3 on penalties to cruise into the final.
They are now set to cross swords with another newbies Galaxy United FC, who also topped Group A at the expense of Benab FC, Sasaamo Panin FC and Fast Track FC with five points from three matches.
The much-anticipated final is slated for this Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
The winner will secure the prestigious spot to play in zone two of the national first division championship in the 2024/25 football season.
