Chris Hughton named his final 27-man squad on Monday for this month's African Cup of Nations set to take place in the Ivory Coast. For others, however, they now know they face a quiet winter after being overlooked by the Ghana manager.

Besides Inaki Williams, none of the forwards named in Hughton's final list has scored more goals than Bernard Tekpetey this campaign. The Ludogorets Razgrad striker has silenced the doubters who didn’t believe he could cut it in the Bulgarian top flight and he has been incredibly consistent.
Tekpetey has been involved in 9 goals for his club scoring 6 and registering 3 assists in 17 games. His omission from the AFCON squad has raised eyebrows and generated a lot of discussions among the Ghanaian football populace.
Michael Baidoo
The most basic mentality a player needs to possess in order to earn himself a call-up to the national team entails a strict focus on bettering their club form. Michael Baidoo has undoubtedly achieved that at IF Elfsborg this season
At the age of 24, Baidoo has shown himself to be an old head on young shoulders with his relentlessly consistent performances for the Swedish club. The Ghanaian midfielder has barely put a foot wrong. He has scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists to his teammates as his club placed second on the Allsvenskan.
With his impressive displays, Baidoo considered himself harshly done to be omitted from Hughton's squad.
Forson Amankwah
People may have been surprised to see Forson Amankwah miss out. His creativity has shone this season and that kind of form could have offered so much in the upcoming AFCON. It has been a tough few years for the Red Bull Salzburg star but he has rediscovered his form and put himself back in the conversation and he has been extremely unlucky on this occasion.
In the Austrian bundesliga, he scored two and registered two in 15 appearances and capped four games for his club in the UEFA champions league.
An appearance at the AFCON would have been a heart-warming patter for the 21-year-old.
