The Black Stars will welcome Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday in their opening fixture of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in a quest to end their recent six game's winless run.

Ghana has been put in Group E of the qualifiers together with Angola, Madagascar and Central African Republic with two teams expected to cruise to the next stage.

After a disappointing AFCON display ever in the country's history, the Black Stars will start off another campaign tonight and will hope to redeem themselves this time to secure another spot in the next edition.

Madagascar, however, after qualifying to their first ever AFCON in 2019, failed to appear in the last edition which was held early this year in Cameroon.

The four time champions have also booked their ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup after edging out sworn rivals Nigeria in the playoffs after they had topped Group A in the second phase of the qualifiers.

The Bareas on the other hand, couldn't make it to Qatar after finishing at the bottom of Group J behind DR Congo, Benin and Tanzania, having recorded just a win and a draw, losing the remaining four matches during the qualifiers.
