The 2024/25 Ashanti Regional Division 2 promotional tournament kicked off earlier today at the iconic Baba Yara Stadium with some interesting and exciting games displayed.
All seven champions from the regular season including the second best in this tourney, will be battling for the ultimate spot to secure first division football next season
The competition started with Zone 3 champions Sasaamo Panin FC conceding in the second half to get held by Zone 2 champions MidCity FC to a pulsating 2-2 draw
On the other hand, Ebony FC have climbed up to the top of the group with a narrow and precious 1-0 win over high-flying Pro-Sports Academy
In Group B, it was a five-goal thriller and Adom FC carried the day despite being handed a very tougher opposition but still stood on their toes and managed a 3-2 win over Acceler8z FC to mark a great start
And the last game of the day was where champions of Zone 7 Benab FC got off to a stellar start having nipped on Imam's solo goal in the 50th minute to win 1-0 over Jonnboe SC and are hoping to build on the same momentum in their subsequent games.
The next round of matches are slated for Sunday, May 4, at the same venue
