Asante Kotoko head coach, Abdul Karim Zito is very much aware of how tough the game against Nigerian fold Kwara United is but is very focused on nothing but advancing to the next round.

The Porcupine Warriors have been paired against the Nigerian side in the first preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup and the winner of the tie will face Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club next.

The ‘Kum Apem’ lads have been very busy both on the transfer market and also on the pitch looking to patch up all cracks to make them ever ready for the upcoming season.

The team after recently clinching the President Cup and the Toyota Cup, are now in Cape Coast as they continue to engage in intensive training sessions and will also engage in some friendlies before they return to Kumasi.

Speaking with the club’s official media team, the experienced tactician said much is expected from his and his players and are now aiming at nothing but winning the tie to cruise into the next round.

“Every club that qualifies to play in the competition is a good club. I met Kwara United during my stint with Dreams FC. It’s a tough fixture but we will do everything possible to eliminate them.”

Asante Kotoko will be part of the upcoming GHALCA Top 4 tournament which commences later this month
