Ghana head coach Otto Addo says England are clear favourites to top Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, following Friday’s draw in Washington, D.C.

The Black Stars were placed alongside England, Croatia and Panama for next year’s tournament, setting up a challenging path as Ghana aim to progress from the group stage for the first time since 2010.

Speaking to Ghanafa.org, Addo urged his players to approach every fixture with equal seriousness.

“I look forward to every game as special,” he said. “It’s very important for us that we don’t underrate any team. For sure, England is the favourite in that group, but for me as a coach, I’m looking at each and every game equally.”

England were finalists at the 2018 World Cup, while Croatia reached the semi-finals in Qatar. Panama, meanwhile, will be making only their second appearance at the global tournament.

Ghana begin their campaign against Panama on 17 June before taking on England on 23 June and Croatia on 27 June, as they look to avoid a third consecutive group-stage exit.
