Black Stars coach Otto Addo will consider home-based players for the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualification games against Mali and the Central African Republic.
The Black Stars are set to travel to face Mali at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako on June 6 before hosting the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on June 10, 2024.
Otto Addo is expected to arrive in Ghana next week before announcing his squad for these crucial matches.
Assistant coach John Paintsil has been actively scouting home-based players to ensure the inclusion of top talent in the national team. He has visited several match venues, including Dawu, Kumasi, Accra, and the Brong Ahafo region, identifying potential players for further assessment.
With five games remaining in the campaign, Paintsil is expected to intensify his player monitoring efforts. Reports indicate that Paintsil has briefed Otto Addo on promising players in the Ghana Premier League, who may be considered for the upcoming qualifiers.
Ghana currently sits 4th in Group I, having won one and drawn one of their opening two games in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
