The experienced tactician has criticised the performance of the ‘class one referee’ after Aduana Stars exit from the FA Cup competition.

Aduana Stars coach Paa Kwesi Fabian has pointed finger at referee Reginald Collins Amoah as the reason why his side suffered an elimination from the 2022/23 FA Cup competition on Sunday afternoon.

King Faisal advanced into the semi-final stage of the competition with a 3-1 penalty shootouts win over the Dormaa based outfit after the fixture had ended in a 2-2 stalemate at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.

However, the 64-year-old gaffer believes the poor output of the match officials resulted Aduana Stars eviction from the competition at the quarter-final stage by King Faisal.

“It is true, we missed some chances in the game. I've never complained about refereeing but today I'll do that because the performance of the match officials was very bad,” Fabian told StarTimes TV

“Before the end of the first half we had a clear penalty but the referee ignored and also two clear penalties in the second half but they were ignored. Look at the kind of penalty, he awarded to King Faisal to level the score,” he quizzed

“Officiating in the game was like a comedy. We played well but unlucky to suffer an elimination via penalty shootouts”

Aduana Stars will now switch focus on the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League after suffering an indefinite home ban after an attack on Tamale City in their match-week 25 last weekend.

Aduana Stars will be playing their subsequent Premier League games away from their home venue, Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa following the ban.

Aduana Stars are scheduled to host relegation threatened club Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League match-week 26 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Saturday, April 15.
