Chris Hughton, the head coach of the Ghana senior national team, has expressed uncertainty about Mohammed Salisu's availability for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
The Black Stars are scheduled to play the first of two games at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday and then travel to Luanda for the reverse fixture.
However, during his pre-match press conference, Hughton stated that Salisu, the centre-back, may not be fit to play due to recent injuries suffered while playing for Southampton.
"Salisu is our only injury concern, and he's doubtful for the game because he hasn't played much recently for his club," the coach told the media ahead of his first game as the team's head coach.
Salisu's most recent appearance was in a 3-3 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League when he came on from the bench.
