Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has stated with so much optimism that, the Black Stars will beat Egypt on Thursday with the right preparations.

The team set off to a very poor start after succumbing to a painful 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde in their opening game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations over the weekend.

Ghana currently, are sitting at the foot of Group B with no point after the first round of matches and will need a win at all cost to cruise into the next round.

Speaking in an interview, the ex- Udinese Calcio middleman has admitted playing against Egypt is always difficult but feels if the team work gard and prepare themselves very well for the game, they will carry the day.

"Playing against Egypt will be a very crucial game. They drew against Mozambique and will now want the points against Ghana. The Black Stars also need to win against Egypt, but I think it will be difficult. It is a crucial game on Thursday, but I am very optimistic that with the right start and preparations, we can sail through against them.” He told Citi FM.

Ghana will face Egypt in the second round of matches on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium.
