Ampem Darkoa Ladies have retained the Ghana Women's Premier League title after defeating Hasaacas Ladies 5-4 on penalty shootouts in the final on Friday evening.

The Techiman based outfit clinched their fourth Premier League title after beating the Southern Zone champions in the 2022/23 Women's Premier League final at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.

The game was forced into penalty shootouts after the regulation time and thirty minutes extra-time had ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
 
Hasaacas Ladies produced a scintillating performance in the first half of the fixture but their upfront were wasteful to give them the opener as it ended in a scoreless draw.
 
After lack of goals in the first half, Hasaacas Ladies continued their impressive output to snatch the lead on the hour-mark through Doris Boaduwaa.
 
Boaduwaa fetched the opener with a fine header on the 60th minute but they failed to hold on with the lead until the final whistle.
 
Ampem Darkoa Ladies warmed themselves into the fixture to enjoy majority of the game possession to level the score in the dying embers of the game.
 
Winger Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah levelled the score after a solo run in the 84th minute to slot the ball firmly into the back of the net.
 
No goal was produced after the 30 minutes of extra-time despite the five-star performance displayed by Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
