The 2021/22 Ashanti Regional division two promotional football tournament commenced this morning in the capital, Kumasi with some shocking and expected results produced.

 

Last year losing finalist, Asekem FC started off with this year's edition  but got held by First Klass FC to a pulsating 1-1 stalemate in an entertaining fixture which left all supporters thrilled at the Baba Yara Stadium.

 Isaac Frimpong opened the scoring account for the Beposo Warriors but a second half equalizer from substitute Addo Emmanuel shared the points between the two sides after full time. 
 
Pro Players Academy got the first win of the day after resoundingly beating their zone five counterparts Natcosta FC by 2-0 in the second game of the day. 
 
Coffie Joseph tapped into the net from a very close range in the first half before forward Antwi Kwadwo sealed the victory for the Oranges with a solo finish in the second half. 
 
The much anticipated encounter today was between Ebony FC and Benab FC and really lived up to expectations with some sumptuous display of quality football. 
 
Israel Opoku opened the scoring account for Benab but goals from Abdulai Zakari and Seth Mensah powered the 'Home of beautiful game' side to a precious comeback win to cruise out with all three points.
 
It was a six-goal thriller in the last fixture of the day as Kumawuman United FC after giving away their early goal lead, fought back to humble Jachie United FC by an emphatic 4-2 in the end.
 
Isaac Amankwah scored all two goals for the Jachie-based side but another brace from Baba Panso, coupled with other two from skipper Maxwell Asante and Michael Owusu Opoku grinded all three points for the 'Barima Mma' outfit.
