AshantiGold SC have sadly lost their appeal and are set to compete in the second division of Ghana football next season.
The Miners and Inter Allies got demoted by the GFA Disciplinary Committee few months ago due to match faxing after they were both found guilty of playing a game of convenience.
The four time Ghanaian champions marmalized the Capelli Boys by an emphatic 7-0 at the Len Clay Stadium in their final fixture of the 2020/21 season- a game center-back Hashmin Musah intentionally scored into his own net on two occasions.
However, both clubs rejected the ruling and decided to appeal the decision but sadly had their file thrown away by the Appeal's Committee, which means they will play in the country's second-tier in the next campaign.
Also, club Chairman Dr. Kwaku Frimpong, CEO Emmanuel Frimpong and all their players that got sanctioned are expected to continue serve their bans till the due period.
The only thing left to make it confirmed is for congress to approve the promotion and demotion of clubs in their next sitting which is slated for August 18, 2022.
