Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper and Ghana international, Benjamin Asare, has won the hearts of many after making a generous donation to the various teams and support staff under the Hearts of Oak Sporting Club.

The 32-year-old reportedly gave away an undisclosed amount of money to all four teams owned by the club’s board chairman, Togbe Afede XIV — including the Royal Oaks (U-17), Auroras FC (U-20), Oaks FC (women’s team), and the senior men’s team, Accra Hearts of Oak.

In addition to the playing bodies, Asare also extended his kindness to support staff such as ball boys, club drivers, and others who contribute behind the scenes.

The donation, according to close sources, was his way of expressing gratitude to the Hearts of Oak family for their support throughout his career.

This heartfelt act follows reports that Asare received GH¢170,000 after featuring in Ghana’s recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where he kept back-to-back clean sheets against Chad and Madagascar.

Remarkably, he is said to have shared more than half of that bonus with his Hearts of Oak teammates and staff.

Despite being dropped from Hearts of Oak’s last two matches — a development that has sparked speculation about his future at the club amid contract extension talks — Asare’s gesture has been hailed by fans and football lovers as a rare show of humility, loyalty, and unity in the modern game.
