Hearts of Oak captain, Benjamin Asare feels very elated for the Black Galaxies invite - something he deems a great opportunity and has assured Ghanaians of nothing but a win against Nigeria on Sunday.

The home-based national team have been camping for over a month now ahead of their 2024 CHAN qualifiers round double header against their sworn rivals in the playoff round.

From all indications, Asare is most likely to man the post on Sunday for the two-time finalists following his performance in the league and also in the national camp.

Speaking in an interview prior to the game, the stalwart goalie has called upon Ghanaians to come in their numbers to cheer them up as they strongly believe they will prevail over the CHAN Eagles this weekend.

“Preparation has been good. It’s a great opportunity for us representing the Black Galaxies. I will plead with Ghanaians to come in their numbers to support us and we promise to give them victory."

The 32-year-old joined the 'Phobians' prior to the commencement of the ongoing season and has made an instant impact since his arrival and is now the club's main captain.

He's featured in all matches they have played so far this season and has delivered some top-tier performances and is now the club's undisputed first-choice in the goalpost.

The Black Galaxies will face Nigeria for the first leg encounter this Sunday, December 22, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.
