The female U17 national team of Ghana are through to the final qualifying round after a comfortable 2-0 win over Liberia at Monrovia’s SKD Sports Complex.
Seidatu Wahab broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, curling in a perfect free-kick.
Then Juliana Gyekyewaa made it 2-0 just six minutes after halftime with another quality set-piece finish.
The Black Maidens stayed in control most of the match and their defense held firm, keeping a clean sheet and punching their ticket to the last round.
Next up for Ghana is Senegal in July. Winner of that tie goes to the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
