The Ghana U23 national team will very soon regroup to begin preparations towards the 2023 Africa Nations Championship and will engage in two international friendlies within that period, confirmed by the team's management committee chairman.
The Black Meteors confirmed their qualification to the tourney after completing a 2-1 on aggregate win over Algeria last month, drawing away before nipping on Fatawu Issahaku's lone strike in Kumasi to win the tie.
The aim is to make the final three and book themselves for the 2024 Olympic Games which will be held in Paris, having missed out on the big global sporting event for almost twenty years now.
In an interview on Citi Sports, Frederick Acheampong has confirmed they are planning on arranging friendlies for the team before they head to Morocco and added the opponents will be announced when everything is finalised.
"In between that, we are looking to play some international friendlies. A minimum of two matches before we enter the tournament. If anything is confirmed, we would make it public."
Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his lads will hope to use those international friendlies to test their strength and readiness heading into competition which starts in June.
