The Black Queens of Ghana will engage European champions England in an international friendly later this year in Hampshire, both countries have confirmed.
The Black Queens were last seen in action few months ago in the last women’s Africa Cup of Nations where they excelled very well with a third-place finish — a run they haven’t had in a while now.
England however, emerged champions of the last Women’s Euros after beating Spain via penalty shootouts to win it for the second time in their history.
The Three Lionesses look to test themselves against Ghana before subsequent assignments as they haven’t faced an African team for almost a year now with their last encounter being a 2-1 win over South Africa in October last year and also against Nigeria at the last World Cup.
Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren and his girls will use this game as the perfect challenge to warm themselves for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The game is slated for December 2, at the St Mary’s Stadium - the home venue of English Champioship side Southampton
