Ghana’s Black Starlets kicked off training in Samreboi on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s friendly double-header against FC Samartex 1996.
The team held their first session at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena as preparations continue for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The session allowed head coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum and his assistant Nana Kweku Agyemang to continue to assess the team’s strengths and weaknesses before the competition.
Black Starlets face FC Samartex 1996’s Youth Team first on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 16:00 GMT. They return to the same pitch the following day, Sunday March 15, to play the club’s senior First Team, also at 16:00 GMT.
These matches build on recent strong showings in Accra, including victories over Attram De Visser Academy, Semper Fi, and Port City FC. The technical team keeps using the games to work on tactics, test combinations and increase match sharpness.
The 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations begins next month. The Black Starlets stay fully focused in camp as they target success on the continental stage and a place at the U-17 World Cup.
