As per local media reports, the Ghana Football Association has awarded a three-year contract to Chris Hughton, the new coach of the Black Stars.
Hughton, who previously managed Brighton & Hove Albion, has taken over from Coach Otto Addo, who stepped down after Ghana's early exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the Group Stage. For the past twelve months, Hughton has served as the Technical Advisor to the Black Stars.
Hughton will be supported by Assistant Coaches George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, who were also part of the technical team during the World Cup in Qatar.
According to the report, Hughton has been assigned the responsibility to guide Ghana to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and clinch the 2024 AFCON tournament. Furthermore, he is charged with ensuring Ghana's qualification for the 2026 World Cup tournament.
