The Black Stars have already opened camp with players arriving already and will engage in a group training for the first time today at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the game against Madagascar in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Coach Chris Hughton last week announced his squad for the game with no any huge surprises with about 80% of the team maintained but will miss the service of Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams who's pulled out due to injury.
The squad includes the return of Alidu Seidu and Kwasi Okyere Wriedt, while Danish-based Ernest Nuamah received his first call-up to the senior national team due to his impressive performance for FC Nordsjaelland in the just-finished season.
Additionally, Nicholas Opoku, a defender from Amiens, Patrick Kpozo, based in Moldova, and Majeed Ashimeru, a midfielder from Anderlecht, have been recalled to the squad.
Alexander Djiku is out due to injury and has been replaced with Kassim Adams who's been outstanding with FC Basel and will be very delighted for finally making a return into the Black Stars.
Bechem United striker Hafiz Konkoni who netted 15 goals in the GPL has hugely earned a call and will join the rest of the squad today.
All invited players are expected to join the team's training today in order to begin preparations towards the game against Madagascar as Ghana look desperate to seal qualification after this round.
Ghana currently leads their Africa Cup of Nations Cote D'Ivoire 2023 qualifying group with 8 points from two wins and two draws in the first four matches.
The match against the Bareas will be held at Stade Kianja Barea in Antananarivo at 17:00 local time on June 18, 2023.
