Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif is optimistic that the Black Stars will win the World Cup.
Ghana have been drawn with Uruguay, South Korea and Portugal in the group stages of the mundial.
Ghana will face Brazil, Nicaragua later this month before completing their pre-World Cup preparations with Switzerland in November.
Black Stars assistant coach, George Boateng have resigned from Aston Villa to fully focus on the national team although, the main coach Otto Addo have refused to step down from his job with Borussia Dortmund.
Otto Addo is expected to name his squad for the friendlies by the middle of the month.
Ghana have qualified for the World Cup on three occasions, equalling the best performance by any African nation at the mundial in their quarter finals elimination in 2010.
Speaking at the FIFA World Cup trophy tour in Ghana, Mustapha Ussif believes that the Black Stars will bring the trophy back to Ghana after the World Cup.
“As football powerhouse in Africa, I know the Black Stars will bring the World Cup trophy back to Ghana by winning it in Qatar," he said.
