Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kurt Okraku has announced that the West African nation has completed the nationality switches of five Ghanaian players born in Europe.

The country's football governing body leader took to his official Facebook page to confirm that six players including Southampton centre-back Salisu Mohammed are now available for Black Stars invitations.

 
After Ghana's qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the GFA has been holding talks with some Ghanaian players born in Europe to switch allegiance to represent the Black Stars.
 
Kurt Okraku on Tuesday evening announced that the Football Association has successfully snatched Tariq Lamptey, Inaki Williams, Stephan Ambrosius, Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer and Patric Pfeiffer from some European countries.
 
Spanish-born Ghanaian striker Iñaki Williams has also completed his nationality switch to play for the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup slated for November to December.
 
Hamburg SV duo Stephan Ambrosius and Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer were born in Germany as well as Patric Pfeiffer of SV Darmstadt but the trio have decided to switch international allegiance to represent the four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions.

Kickgh.com understands that Coach Otto Addo played an instrumental role in convincing the three players born in Germany to wear the Black Stars strips.
 
Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey who was born to Ghanaian parents in London has also affirmed his love for Black Stars as he has also switched nationality from England to Ghana.
 
In May 2022, Lamptey has asked to be left out of the England U21 squad after being approached by Ghana to switch allegiances.
 
He was due to be in the Young Lions’ selection for their four Euro qualifiers against Czech Republic, Albania, Kosovo and Slovenia.
 
Lamptey, who has two England U21 caps, was born in Hillingdon, west London, but is of Ghanaian descent.
 
He provided two assists in his 30 appearances for Brighton and Hove Albion in the just ended English Premier League season.
 
 Tariq Lamptey was spotted at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium watching the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Ghana and Madagascar last month.
 
The Black Stars of Ghana romped a 3-0 heavy home win over the Barea of Madagascar in their Group E opener of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification round.
