The country's football governing body has reportedly shortlisted three candidates for the Black Stars vacant coaching role.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has trimmed the number of coaches for the Black Stars job to three which includes Chris Hughton.

 
Hughton was the technical advisor of the senior national team of Ghana from February to December 2022.
 
According to Accra based radio station Asempa FM, 63-year-old Argentine tactician Hector Cuper is also among the final three candidates shortlisted by the West African nation for the final interview.
 
Former Manchester United assistant coach Steven McLaren, who also submitted his application for the vacant role is also been considered in the final three.
 
The Ghana Football Association is expected to announce the new coach for the Black Stars as replacement for Otto Addo later this month 
 
Otto Addo left his job at the Black Stars after the team's elimination from the group stages of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
 
Ghana will be playing the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March.
