Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has been omitted from Chris Hughton's squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Mexico and the USA.
Hughton has called up 23 players for the friendly matches, with the captain being the most prominent absentee due to his current unattached status.
Ghana is set to face Mexico at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Saturday, October 14, followed by a match against the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to a statement from the GFA, "Coach Chris Hughton is expected to use these two friendlies as part of the buildup to the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire."
