New Black Stars goalkeepers trainer Dan Gaspar has spoken of his pride after being named to Ghana’s technical team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Gaspar reunites with head coach Carlos Queiroz to continue a long working relationship that has seen the pair serve together with national teams such as Iran and Portugal.
Currently part of Hartford Athletic, Gaspar will be making his fourth appearance at the World Cup in his new role with Ghana.
“Representing Ghana on the world stage in my home country is an incredible honour. I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited to get to work with such a talented group of players and staff. Competing at the World Cup again is a dream come true. I’m fully committed to helping the team prepare, perform, and make our supporters proud,” said Gaspar.
He also thanked his current club for allowing him to take up the opportunity.
“Special thank you to Hartford Athletic’s Brendan Burke and the rest of the coaching staff as well as the management team to allow me to this incredible opportunity. I will represent Hartford Athletic with pride and honor," he added.
Ghana, making their fifth appearance at the World Cup, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27.
