Karela United Coach Abukari Damba Reflects on FA Cup Quarterfinal Defeat
Abukari Damba, head coach of Karela United, has expressed contentment with his team's overall performance despite their narrow loss to Nsoatreman in the MTN FA Cup quarterfinals.
Nsoatreman secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory in extra time, clinching a semifinal spot with a late goal from Eric Osei Bonsu.
In the aftermath of the match, Damba shared his disappointment with the outcome but remained upbeat about his team's resilience and potential for success in future fixtures, particularly in the league.
While acknowledging the disappointment of the defeat, Damba praised the spirited display of both teams, lauding their passion and character throughout the game.
"Both teams played very well. They showed passion, they showed character from both teams and I think it was a fair reflection of the game. The performance of my players gives me a lot of joy. Even though we conceded a goal, I still give them thumbs up.”
Looking ahead, Karela United will aim to bounce back as they face Heart of Lions in an upcoming Ghana Premier League fixture scheduled for Sunday in match week 24.
