The National Division One League continued this weekend with interesting results in the match-week 18 as Heart of Lions, Bofoakwa Tano and Skyy FC keep flying high in their respective zones for the top-flight league promotion next season.
Skyy FC demolished second place team Nations with 3-0 home victory at the St. Martins Park in Deboase as Heart of Lions also whipped Tudu Mighty Jets 3-0 to extend their lead on top of the zone three table.
Volta Rangers travelled to Tema to trounced Tema Youth SC while Bofoakwa Tano also cemented their top spot with a win over Unity FC
Zone One
Bofoakwa Tano open a four lead in Zone One B of the Access Bank Division One League after beating Unity FC 2-0 at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday.
Bright Boakye Kyere gave the host a well-deserved lead in the 52nd minute before Saaka Dauda doubled the advantage in the 56th minutes for Bofoakwa Tano.
The win keeps them at the of the table in Zone One B with 39 points, six points ahead of second place Young Apostles who drew 0-0 with Baffuor Soccer Academy on Matchday 18 of the Division One League.
Zone One A leaders, Eleven Wonders were held 0-0 by Wa Yaasin at the Malick Jabir Park at Wa.
Berekum Arsenal beat Nkoranza Warriors 1-0 at Golden City Park. Amnponsah Aveo converted a 3rd minute penalty to give Arsenal all the spoils. Kwame Damoah Abrefa of Berekum Arsenal was named the most valuable player after the match.
Zone Two
Skyy FC beat second placed Nations FC 3-0 to maintain their lead in Zone Two of the Access Bank Division One League. The two sides clashed in a top of the table fixture at St. Martin's Park at Daboase Sunday with plenty to play for.
Going into the game, Skyy FC who held a five point lead in Zone Two, vowed to win to the keep hold of the top spot and rightly so, they cruised to a scintillating 3-0 win to keep their place.
Paul Ennin scored in the 30th minute to put the home team in front before Eric Antwi Konadu doubled the advantage in the 39th minute. With the game heading to a comfortable win, Baba Hamadu Musa put the icing on the cake as he scored the 3rd goal in the 90th minute to complete the victory for Skyy FC.
Elsewhere Swedru All Blacks pip Kenpong Football Academy 1-0 at Swedru Park. The first half didn’t produce any goal but Prince Gamor netted a 75th minute winner to give the home side the three points. Emmanuel Boateng Agyenim of Kenpong Football Club was named the most valuable player of the game despite losing 1-0.
WAFA SC draw 1-1 against Elmina Sharks at home. Sharks player Alhassan Adamu scored in the 50th minute to put the away team in the lead. But Kojo Adonteng equalized in the 64th minute to level matters for the home side.
Zone Three
League leaders Heart of Lions open a 13 point lead in Zone Three after a 3-0 win over Tudu Mighty Jets at Kpando Park.
The Kpando based outfit scored in either half as they cruised an emphatic win in front of their fans.
Benson Kofi Yeboah and Sakabutu scored in the first half to give Lions a commanding lead before they added the third in the closing stages of the game. Benson scored in the 11th minute before Sakabutu Dickson doubled the lead in the 22nd minute as they went into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Heart of Lions completed the victory in the 90th minute with another goal from Benson Kofi Yeboah - his second of the day and his sixth goal of the season.
Meanwhile former Premier League side Liberty Professionals beat Vision FC 1-0 at Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman.
The first half didn’t produce any goal but both sides created a couple of chances but failed to score.
Jason Owusu scored in the 85th minute to win the day for Liberty Professionals as Derrick Atta Adjei of Liberty Professionals was named the most valuable player in the match.
Na God FC drew 1-1 against Attram De Visser Academy in another sensational game at the Tema Park. Awal Mohammed scored in the 18th minute to put the home team in the lead before the half time break. The visitors had belief and continued to fight until the 61st minute when Emmanuel Adjei leveled the scores for Na God FC.
