VC Warriors returned to winning ways in the 2023/24 Division One League after securing a hard-fought win over Steadfast FC on Friday.
The Wenchi-based outfit recorded their fourth victory of the ongoing season to keep their top-flight league promotion hopes alive.
Following the temporal ban on the Wenchi Sports Stadium, the match-week 12 fixture was played at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.
Warriors commenced the game as a rejuvenated side with an intense pressure on the visitors to concede before the half-hour mark.
Talented enforcer, Hayford Boafo brilliantly opened the scoring for the host in the 21st minute of the game.
Coach Akakpo Patron's side looked more determined in the second half and it paid off when Derrick Gyamfi calmly extend their lead in the 72nd minute before a consolation goal was scored in the dying embers to end the fixture in a 2-1 win for VC Warriors.
VC Warriors currently occupies 5th position on the Division One League Zone 1A table with sixteen points after 12 matches.
