Former Black Stars management committee member, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer says Asamoah Gyan shouldn't go to the World Cup to disgrace himself.
He admitted that Asamoah Gyan has been one of the best players Ghana has ever had, but insists that his physical fitness doesn't support his intentions to be at the finale.
The all-time Black Stars record goalscorer have announced his intentions to feature at the World Cup for Ghana.
Asamoah Gyan has been without a team since leaving Legon Cities after the 2020/21 season.
Ghana will face Brazil and Nicaragua in France and Spain respectively in a pre-World Cup friendlies later this month.
Ghana have also scheduled a date with Switzerland in November, some days before the World Cup starts in Qatar.
Otto Addo is expected to name his squad for the friendies by middle of the month.
Ghana are in Group H with South Korea, Uruguay and Portugal.
Osei Palmer advises Asamoah Gyan to reconsider his ambitions of going to the World Cup as he believes that he's not capable of performing at the highest level.
"Gyan is my brother, a friend and everything, I will tell him to leave the stage because he has paid his dues for Ghana," he said.
"When he scored his 50th in Gabon I think he celebrated that goal in front of me and there was a reason why he did that because that was all that I wished for him to get his 50th goal."
“He is one of the best players we’ve had, he has paid his dues so we should not push him to the World Cup to disgrace him. He played for Legon Cities and we all saw that the soul is willing but the body is weak," he added.
