General Manager of Accra Great Olympics, Eric Alagidede has stated categorically clear that, they are the third force in Ghana football after the two giants; Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko

The Wonder Club have five domestic titles to boast of; two Ghana Premier Leagues (1970 & 1974) and three FA Cups (1975, 1983 & 1995)

The club however, in the last few years, haven’t really matched their own standards and will be missing out in the topflight championship next season for the second consecutive time after being relegated in the 2023/24 season

Alagidede, was appointed just recently to steer affairs and help rise the club back into the Premier League - where they belong

Speaking on Asempa FM, the enterprising administrator described his new club as the third biggest in the country where he assured everything is moving on well and are ready for the upcoming season

He added that they will make the first statement of their readiness in the Democracy Cup against city-rivals Hearts of Oak

“So far, I'm enjoying my time and it's been good, and I'm very happy about the progress made. There is hope because the pre-season looks good, and we will soon bounce back. As the third force in Ghana football, we need to be back in the Ghana Premier League.

“We are the only club after Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to have won two Premier League titles and two FA Cup trophies. So, if I say we are the third force, I'm only speaking facts and not making a claim.”

“We are preparing very well and will make our first statement in the upcoming Democracy Cup,” he added.

The Democracy Cup which was last won by Asante Kotoko, is slated for August 29, 2025, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium
