Asamoah Gyan has expressed his support for Ernest Nuamah after the young player received his first call-up to the senior national team.

Nuamah, an attacker for FC Nordsjaelland, has been included in the Black Stars' 24-man squad for the upcoming matchday five games against Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Having been a key player for both FC Nordsjaelland and the Black Meteors, who qualified for the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Nuamah's call-up to the Black Stars is seen as well-deserved.

Gyan, speaking to Asempa FM, praised Nuamah's abilities and expressed his satisfaction with the youngster's inclusion in the national team. He said, "Ernest Nuamah's call-up to the Black Stars is excellent because he is a good player. I noticed him after the Black Meteors qualified for the CAF U-23 AFCON, and I said he would be a good player. I am happy to see him included."

Nuamah has also been recognized for his outstanding performances in the 2022/23 Danish Superliga, being named the Player of the Year. Despite FC Nordsjaelland narrowly missing out on winning the league title, Nuamah contributed 12 goals and four assists throughout the season.

Additionally, he was voted as the Best Player of the Spring in the 2023 Superligaen, receiving the award from Andreas Schjelderup, who had won it in autumn 2022, with Nuamah finishing sixth in the voting.
