Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has donated GH¢20,000, food supplies and football equipment to inmates at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison.

The donation was made during the second edition of a charity outreach programme organised by the KN Foundation in partnership with the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana and the Ghana Football Association.

Items donated included 30 sets of jerseys, 29 footballs, 49 hose sets, 100 bags of rice and 50 packs of bottled water.

The outreach programme brought together former footballers, football administrators and members of the media to support inmates and encourage rehabilitation through sport and community activities.

Speaking during the event, organisers said the initiative aims to give inmates hope and help their return to society through football and social support programmes.

The project also forms part of wider efforts by football stakeholders and corporate partners to use the sport as a tool for positive social change beyond the game.
