The Hearts of Oak board of directors have opened discussion with Black Stars assistant gaffer Mas-ud Didi Dramani to take over the vacant coaching role at the club, Kickgh.com has learnt.
Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak are currently in search for a new head coach after terminating their contract with Danish trainer Martin Koopman following the club's poor performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
Koopman, who was appointed prior to the commencement of the 2023/24 season's campaign, had his contract abrogated by club's top hierarchy on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
The club announced in a statement that assistant coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru has been assigned to take charge as interim coach until a substantive manager is appointed. His first assignment will be a game against Accra Lions in the Premier League match-week 11 game on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
However, Kickgh.com sources indicate that Hearts of Oak are already in talks with Didi Dramani for a possible appointment as the club's new head coach on a two-and-half year contract.
The former Asante Kotoko coach currently works as Black Stars assistant coach and the head coach of the Black Galaxies (locally based national team of Ghana).
Didi Dramani has vast experience in football management, having coached Wa All Stars (now Legon Cities), Asante Kotoko, Right to Dream Academy, FC Nordsjaelland and the Black Maidens.
The 57-year-old tactician guided Asante Kotoko to clinch the 2012/13 Ghana Premier League title and their arch-rival, Hearts of Oak could be his next decision.
Several coaches including former Black Stars coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor, Bashir Hayford and Yaw Preko have been linked to Hearts of Oak coaching job.
