Bofoakwa Tano FC have evicted holders Dreams FC from the MTN FA Cup with a precious 2-1 win in the second semi final at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope to advance to the final.
The game was really a difficult one for both teams as they all looked very resolute most especially in defense with no goal registered at half time.
Just two minutes from the break, Bofoakwa Tano broke the deadlock through Aboagye Dacosta who scored a beautiful goal with a sumptuous hit from outside the box.
Exactly ten minutes later, Dreams FC were awarded a very controversial penalty with Godfred Atuahene being the victim and former Kotoko defender Andrews Appau the culprit.
Emmanuel Agyei stepped up for the big kick and calmly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to level the score to send the game to extra time.
After another end to end encounter in the first half of the extra time, the 'Esuo Eyiri Pe Bre' lads scored in the dying embers to restore their lead through ex- AshantiGold SC midfielder Elijah Addai.
The reigning champions did all they could to snatch the leveller in the second fifteen minutes but all their efforts proved futile thanks to Bofo goalie Emmanuel Kobi- who was adjudged man of the match in the game.
Bofoakwa Tano FC will now face regional rivals Nsoatreman FC in definitely what promises to be a delightful final.
