Asante Kotoko exhibited another scintillating performance to narrowly defeat Bibiani Goldstars by 0-1 to cruise into round 16 of the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup.

Explosive start for the Porcupine Warriors after Mukwala was put through in just three minutes from kickoff but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Kofi Baah.

Both teams were really up against each other, leaving an even exchange between the two sides as they all push for the opener.

Prince Adu Kwabena got fouled by Justice Blay at a very good position for a very dangerous free kick. The latter went for it but his effort went wide for a goalkick.

In the second half, Goldstars came so close to scoring on the 49th minute but goalkeeper Moise Pouaty tipped off the crossbar for a wasted corner kick.

Kotoko finally opened the scoring account on the 55th minute through Peter Acquah Amidu who connected into the net a non-drop fashion from Sheriff's long pass from the left.

The Miners after going down, made lots of incursions in search for leveller but all their efforts proved futile.

With eight minutes to full time, a decent cross was crafted into the Kotoko territory and was targeted at Abednego Tetteh but once again Moise Pouaty came off his line to grab that.

It finished 0-1 for Asante Kotoko who have now advanced to round 16 of the MTN FA Cup.
