The 2022/23 MTN FA Cup saw some surprises following holders Hearts of Oak's eviction from the competition whiles their rivals Asante Kotoko got to the round 16 stage this time.

The 'Phobians' definitely had a substantive target of defending the league cup for the second time, having emerged champions in the last two seasons but unfortunately had their run halted by Dreams FC thanks to Agyenim Boateng's early first half strike.

On the other hand, Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko nipped on Maxwell Agyemang's late strike to narrowly edge out lower-division side Benab FC 2-1 in a tie head coach Seydou Zerbo admitted it was a very tough one.

It was a five goal thriller at the Sunyani Coronation Park where current GPL leaders Aduana Stars were handed a herculean clash by Bofoakwa Tano but managed to sail through with a 2-3 win to qualify to the next stage.

King Faisal marmalized GoldStars by an emphatic 1-4 in Bibiani whiles Karela United after sending out Medeama in round 64, also got evicted by second-tier side Skyy FC.
