FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber has imposed a fine on the Egyptian club, Future FC, for the improper termination of Ghanaian striker Diawusie Taylor's contract. This decision comes as a result of Taylor's contract with the club being unlawfully terminated.
Diawusie Taylor initially joined Future FC in 2021, signing a reported three-year deal. However, he encountered difficulties while trying to establish himself in the North African country.
As a consequence of this ruling, Future FC has been instructed by the World Football Governing Body to compensate the Ghanaian player with a payment of USD $900,000.
They have 45 days to fulfill this payment obligation; otherwise, they will face a suspension from player registration for three consecutive transfer windows.
Diawusie Taylor, 23 years old, previously went on loan to Sudanese side Al Merriekh, but he also struggled to make a significant impact, leading to the termination of his loan move.
Notably, Taylor was the top scorer in the Ghanaian top-flight during the 2020/2021 campaign, having scored 18 goals in 31 appearances for Karela.
