President of Federation International Football Associations (FIFA), Gianni Infantino has send a congratulatory message to Kurt Okraku who last week, retained his seat as the President of the Ghana Football Association.
The 52-year-old retained the big seat last Thursday at the GFA Elective Congress which was held at the Golden Dream Hotel in Northern Region's capital, Tamale.
He went unopposed after his direct competitor George Afriyie was disqualified by the Election Committee, and had 117 out of the total 119 votes casted by the delegates.
Kurt Okraku's tenure as the Ghana FA boss commenced in 2019, and has now earned himself another term which will be his final.
He's received wide range of goodwill messages after the win including one from CAF President Patrice Motsepe and latest is from the FIFA boss himself Gianni Infantino, who praised him for the retention and also congratulated all members who were voted on the Executive Council.
He added by urging them to continue to work extra harder to raise the standard of the Ghanaian game to the highest echelon and wrapped up by wishing them all the best.
"Dear President, Please accept my warmest greetings and sincerest congratulations for your recent re-election as President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA),” a statement for the FIFA boss reads.
“I would be grateful if you could please convey my felicitations to the Members of the Executive Council elected with you, while I seize the opportunity to thank you for all your efforts, your work and your important contribution to the development of our sport and the promotion of its values in Ghana.
“Sending you and your team my best wishes for this new mandate and every success for all the challenges that lie ahead, I look forward, dear President, to continuing to work with you for the growth and prosperity of football in Ghana in the years to come.’’
Kurt Okraku after the re-election, will now lead Ghana football until October 2027.
