The Black Princesses of Ghana exhibited a stupendous performance to edge Senegal by 0-2 at the Stade Lart Dior in the first leg of the final round of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers.
The Princesses with an explosive start after breaking the deadlock in just three minutes from kickoff through Tracey Twum who scored after receiving a beautiful pass from Mafia Nyame.
Just two minutes later, Tracey Twum doubled the lead for Ghana from a fine team build-up.
The Senegalese looked completely off with Ghana pushing more in attack but couldn't get the third before half time.
In the second half, the home team returned on a blistering note and made lots of goal incursions as they look to bounce back stronger.
On the 62nd minute, Senegal came so close to pulling one back but their effort was dealt with nicely by Afi Amenyaku.
Sixteen minutes later, Jennifer Owusuwaa came so close to getting the third for Ghana but her effort went wide for a restart.
It ended 0-2 for the Black Princesses after full time and will host the Teranga Lioness in the return leg next week in Accra.
