John Mahama has urged the Black Stars to aspire for gold as they have secured qualification to next year's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Ghana secured a place at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire with their win over Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday.
“Congratulations to our Black Stars," the former first gentleman of the land posted on his social media handle after the match.
"Great comeback from a goal down and a spectacular victory against CAR to book a well-deserved spot in the 2024 AFCON. You’ve made Ghana proud again."
Mahama urged the Black Stars players to go for the ultimate; “Let’s go for gold in the AFCON!” he added.
