Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has officially tied the knot with his long-time partner, Ruweida Abubakar, in a colorful ceremony held in Tema on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
The wedding, attended by family, friends, former teammates, and officials of Medeama SC, came just 24 hours after Tanko guided the Mauve and Yellow to a resounding Premier League victory over Vision FC at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium. The win lifted Medeama three points clear at the top of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League table after two successive victories.
Tanko, a former Ghana international and ex-Accra Lions coach, has made an immediate impact since taking charge of Medeama, transforming them into early-season title contenders.
However, the newlywed coach will have little time for a honeymoon, as he is expected to quickly return to duty. Medeama travel to Tamale next week for a difficult away clash against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium—a crucial fixture in their bid to maintain their early lead in the title race.
