George Boateng and Mas Ud Didi Dramani, the current assistant coaches of the Black Stars, have signed contracts that will keep them with the national team until December 2024. They will be working together with newly-appointed coach Chris Hughton as part of the technical team.

The primary objective of the new technical team is to qualify Ghana for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and win the tournament in Ivory Coast. Boateng and Dramani were previously assistants to former head coach Otto Addo and were part of the team that competed in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Their first task under the new coach will be in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola on Thursday in Kumasi.

The Black Stars are hoping to make a return to the tournament, after being eliminated at the group stage in the last edition held in Cameroon.

Currently, Ghana sits on top of Group E with four points and victories in the upcoming double header against Angola will secure the four-time African champions' qualification for AFCON 2023.
